The Indianapolis Decorators’ Show House: A Legacy of Design, Community and Heart

There are certain moments in a designer’s career that feel especially meaningful where creativity, community and purpose all come together in one beautiful experience. For me, being part of the Indianapolis Decorators’ Show House for the third time is undeniably one of those moments.

A Brief History Rooted in Purpose
The Indianapolis Decorators' Show House has been a beloved tradition in the Indianapolis design community for decades, bringing together each year the region's most talented designers to transform a remarkable home into a fully realized showcase of inspiration and artistry.

But what makes this event truly special goes far beyond design. The Show House is presented by the St. Margaret's Hospital Guild, with proceeds benefiting Eskenazi Health. Each room tells a story, not only of creativity and craftsmanship, but also of generosity and impact. Every detail, every finish, every thoughtfully placed piece contributes to something much larger than the space itself.

The Honor of Being Among Talent
To be invited to participate in the Show House is an incredible honor.

To stand alongside such an extraordinary group of designers, each bringing their own perspective, style, and vision, is both humbling and energizing. There is a quiet camaraderie behind the scenes… a shared understanding of the effort, the passion and the vulnerability that come with designing in such a public and celebrated way.

Each space becomes a reflection of the designer and a piece of a larger collective story, one that visitors experience as they move from room to room.

That is the magic.

A Personal Milestone: Serving on the Design Board
This year held even greater meaning for me, as I had the honor of serving on the Design Board.

It’s one thing to contribute a space. It’s another to help shape the experience, guide the vision and support fellow designers through the process. Being part of the Design Board allowed me to give back in a way that felt incredibly aligned with both my personal values and my professional journey.

There is something so fulfilling about stepping into a leadership role, not just to elevate design but to support others, encourage collaboration and help foster an environment where creativity can truly thrive.

Giving Back Through Design
At its core, the Show House is about giving back. As designers, we are fortunate to do what we love every day, creating homes that enhance how people live, feel and connect. Opportunities like this remind us that our work can also serve a greater purpose.

To be part of an event that raises meaningful funds for healthcare, while also inspiring the community through design, is something I don’t take lightly. It’s a beautiful intersection of passion and purpose.

Why It Matters

I am beyond grateful to have been part of this year’s journey, not only as a designer but as a member of the Design Board. To contribute, to collaborate and to give back alongside such an incredible group of professionals is something I will always treasure.
