High Point Market Fall 2026:  We Saw, We Loved & We Scouted!

Our Indianapolis and Virginia design teams headed to High Point Market together this fall, and we came home with our design cup filled! We walked the showrooms, interviewed some of our favorite designers, supported the brands we love to partner with, sat in on the panels, compared notes with friends in the industry, and filled our phones with photos. Here's what caught our eye, what we fell for, and what you can expect to see in GreyHunt Interiors designs soon.

The Trends We Can't Stop Talking About
Purple Is Everywhere!
Image
Purple! Purple! Purple! This color story is here and here to stay. The burgundies and merlots we've loved for the past few seasons have stretched across the whole family: soft mauves, deep eggplants, dreamy lavenders, and everything in between. One of our favorite looks was pairing those lighter purples with rich merlot tones for a layered, tonal effect. (One of our designers is happy to report she felt ahead of the curve, because her own home already hits these hues!)

Green is also having a moment, and not just on the walls. We spotted plenty of green furniture, which is a fun, confident move we expect to see more of and have been using for years. See here!

It’s Mahjong Moment!
Image
Mahjong tables are all the rage, and they've opened the door to game tables of every kind. Showrooms were full of flex spaces and screen-free designs for rooms designed for gathering, playing, and actually communicating with each other. We love that homes are being designed around connection instead of screens.

Dark, Rich Burl Wood
The light oak burl of recent markets has given way to something moodier. Case goods and finished pieces are leaning into dark, rich burl woods with deep figuring and drama. It pairs beautifully with jewel tones.

More Is More: Pattern, Trims & Ruffles
Image
To our delight, maximalism is alive and well. We saw block prints, layered textiles, trims, and confident pattern mixing throughout the market. Ruffles were also making a real push for a comeback on sofas and chairs. Hello, '80s and '90s!

Touchable Texture
Cozy, long-haired, shearling-style upholstery was everywhere, the kind of fabric that feels like petting a fluffy dog or Chewbacca from Star Wars. It's irresistible to the touch, though we'll be honest… it’s a pass for us; it's probably best saved for homes without toddlers.

When our design team creates a custom space, we are thinking about how a performance velvet feels when you sink into it after a long day, how custom drapery softens the echo in a busy family room, and how warm, layered lighting sets the right mood from morning coffee to evening unwinding. We bring physical finish samples into your home's unique light, test textures, and select durable materials built to handle kids, pets, and real everyday life.

Our Favorite Finds
TWIND. This was a standout discovery for the behind-the-scenes side of our work. TWINDO is scanning software that converts a space into a blank SketchUp drawing, so we can jump straight into design. We think it will cut down our measuring and build time, so we can get to the fun part faster for our clients.

Newport Brass's High Point Debut
It was thrilling to see this stunning brand showcased at market, with crowds swarming around to admire the collection.

Vern Yip's Debut Rug Line at Jaipur
A beautiful first collection and one of our team's favorites of the week.

Pooky At 313
Pooky's playful, colorful lighting line was so much fun to see in person.

Fabricut x Pulp Design for S. Harris
This new collaboration brought fresh patterns and fabrics that felt exciting and different. We can already picture them in an upcoming GHI project.

Our Favorite Moments

Being Together As One Team
Having our Indianapolis and Virginia design teams at market together is hard to beat. Watching everyone explore and get inspired is inspiring in its own right, and the team loved watching Sallie in action.

Comparing Notes With Friends
We always look forward to catching up with our friends at Custom Living, a fellow Indianapolis design-build firm we've collaborated with before. Swapping market notes and chatting about what's trending is always a highlight.

The Panels
This year's talks were excellent. A favorite was Martyn Bullard's take on listening rooms as the next quiet luxury. We love the idea of homes as experiences, with rooms built around enjoying music rather than putting the TV front and center.

What's Coming To GHI Designs
Image
Here's a little secret: we've already dipped our toes into many of these trends in projects you haven't seen yet. We can't wait to share GHI's take once those spaces are installed and photographed. When we say "trends," though, we really mean timeless. The movement we're most excited about is the return of antiques and vintage pieces. What was old is new again, and we've always loved layering a piece with history into a fresh, modern space.

Fall 2026 Market In A Nutshell
Image
How our team summed up market in one sentence:

"Rich and royal finishes create layered comfort, while seeking out unique, flexible uses of space." - Kara

"It's eclectic and unapologetically mixes styles, forms, textures, finishes, and time periods." - Sallie

"A comeback of the old with a new twist." - Justine

We couldn't agree more. Ready to bring some of this into your own home? Reach out to the GreyHunt Interiors team and let's start designing.
