As the summer comes to a close and the time ticks closer to putting on those backpacks and heading back to school, one word has been on my mind a lot lately: preparation. If this year has taught us anything, it's that being prepared for what's to come results in a stress-free environment. But to have a tranquil mind, you must have an organized home! Check out these tips on preparing for the hustle and bustle of the kids as they are on to go this school year.
1. Get Yourself Organized
Make sure you have great storage all-around your house. And I mean ALL around the house– I mean utilize every crevice, nook, and cranny! A great tip is to use the inside of doors for storage. You can organize your fridge and your pantry, with labels for snacks and school lunches! This will help you avoid any mixups.
2. Entryway Storage
Did you know that your entryway can serve as the perfect place to keep things organized? Look for cabinets versus tables for a great way to sort gloves, pet leashes, or in and out mail! An adaptable storage bench is another great way to store similar items or stop putting those shoes on before running out the door!
3. Make The Most Of Your Mudroom
Whether you have a mudroom, foyer, or garage, all of these spaces can serve as functional areas. Carve out a garage space and put in hooks, paint a cute little area, an indoor-outdoor rug, and a storage bench, and be thrilled with the function and cute design when you open your garage door!
4. Double Duty With Furniture That Looks Good But Is Functional
No good design comes without good function. Look for pieces that not only serve your home in style but in practicality as well!
