Hi fabulous friends! I thought I would hop on here today and share with you some insight into how we create the perfect interior design project for our lovely clients. We absolutely love what we do, and there is so much love and hard work involved in every single part of the process. Let’s go step by step – through the design process. The design world is ever-changing and no project is the same!
Presentation Prep
There is a lot of planning involved in this process – and certainly lots of ideating, brainstorming, and team meetings. Before we can present to a client, we meet with them and find out what their design goals are and how we can get them there and take it to the next level. From there we hit our studio library of samples and begin pulling out fabrics, finishes, wallpapers, tiles and what we think is just right for them. Then the search begins. We spend countless hours researching products that will work for the client. While I am sourcing, our designers are visually building floor plans and sketch up. Once we have the design together, we start labeling all the samples that we have ordered to make it easy for the clients to know exactly what goes where. Then Ta Da, presentation day! Here are some of the steps we take.
Picking Paint Colors & Finishes
Paint colors can be hard for a lot of people. We have a trained eye to see undertone and know how color is going to work when applied. We select paint colors for custom art using fabric and wallpaper samples. Take a look at some of our recent inspirations!
Scheming For Fabrics
An fun part of the process is scheming for fabrics and rugs for a new project when we begin. This involves a lot of research and investigating for the perfect pieces and materials! You can also see how they can all come together on presentation day.

We love designing from the beginning and seeing the progress – before, during and after! Each time we’re here, it is important to take as many photos as possible and get every detail! We love making sure everything is going according to plan and in just the right place.
The Photoshoots
Speaking of photos, let's talk about photoshoots. Photoshoots require a little extra fill in, just like us ladies know to put on a little extra mascara and liner. So, we do some additional shopping for accessories and pack the car pretty tight with everything from bowls, trays, little side tables, to fresh fruits, flowers, and baked goods. Did I mention, we love eating the props?!
Sometimes we work with furry talent. Sometimes they are real professionals and do exactly what we want and other times, they are just, well..acting like animals! Photoshoot days are so fun but let me tell you, by the end of it, you are exhausted and ready for bed at 7pm. You sometimes have to hold things up to block the sun causing a glare, or walk through while the shoot is taking place, moving everything around. The reality is, everything in front of the camera is beautiful, but behind is messy!
It’s exciting to see your work come to life and the joy on your clients face and how it’s already changed how they feel and how they live. Now that is a dream job!
Take a look at some of our final results and detailed shots!
Of course between all of that are client meetings, calls, hundreds of emails, organizing the sample room over and over again, team meetings, project planning and scheming, edits, revisions, and everything else in between. The list goes on, and we certainly have a lot of fun.
