I don't know about you, but there's nothing worse than being crammed in a shower with low pressure, a narrow showerhead, bottles tumbling around, and hoping I don't knock myself out when trying to shave my legs. Then, to get out, having to walk away wet to reach for a towel, only to go to my sink that's covered in products because I don't have any storage. Who can feel the irritation? Design impacts our lives from the moment we wake up and put our feet on the ground (soft and warm vs. hard and cold), throughout the day in a home office that isn't functional or working from the sofa, to the kitchen making dinner at night where everything is crammed and toppling over with a split sink. Are you feeling it? Can you feel how design affects you at home? Don't even get me started on commercial workspaces!
Let's paint a different picture—one that's curated for you by us, the experience we give our clients, and what I've invested in and done for my family. Imagine waking up in a beautiful bed with nice bedding, toes on the ground to a soft rug. Walking into our bathroom with heated flooring to take the chill off and easily accessing everything we need in large roll-out drawers with inside shallow drawers for organization. Then stepping into a shower that's not only beautiful but also the perfect height and width, with pressure from the Brizo showerhead. All the products are in matching containers labeled for each product with ample inset shelves. Then out to the beautiful, cohesive home into a kitchen that's functional, organized, and of course, beautiful. The coffee station is ready, everything's easy to access, and we're out the door with reduced stress because of the environment. Now that's how everyone should start their day!
For this client, they had a beautiful home, but the bathroom and bedroom were so not functional. They needed help and didn't really know how to obtain it. They felt they had nowhere to go with expanding and were limited on looks because they wanted to keep existing furniture since it was made by a family member and passed down. Although there were challenges, learning what our clients' needs really were helped me start designing the perfect at-home retreat curated for them.
We extended into the bedroom a couple of feet because we felt that space for storage was much more necessary in the bathroom to take the pressure off. We added shelving, cabinets for closed storage, and decorative storage containers to hold needed items. We removed the shower walls to allow for a larger shower that didn't have a closed-in claustrophobic feel. We made a knee wall for the water closet area for some privacy and were still able to give them each their own vanity. Did we mention how we changed the look and feel of the tub? I mean, this tub moment is calling! This went from a crowded, overflowing, dingy, closed-in design to a beautiful, interesting space with great storage, quality fixtures, and roomier spaces for a better experience. Are you feeling me on what design can do? Well, these clients were so in love with the design for the primary bathroom and bedroom, which is a huge change with those special pieces, that they wanted to redo the other two bathrooms upstairs.
I hope you're inspired not just from seeing the designs of before and afters, but FEELING the change and what design can do for you! Who's ready for change? If you are, let's chat and set up a discovery call.
