Fall is upon us, and I can't contain my excitement for this time of year! The season of leaves means it's time to play with textures and tones. It isn't always about using fall colors but more about layering and mixing to get a beautiful look. Let's take a peek at some of my favorite ways to embrace autumn.
We wanted to create a statement closet space that played off our primary bedroom design. Although the design was very important to us, we’re both designers! The functionality had to take priority for us as we merged our wardrobes. We worked with Merrick from California Closet Indianapolis, and right away, she knew just how to merge my ideas and her knowledge. She also has a great eye for design and made sure the function complimented the design.
For prep work, we had to empty and gut the closet, had the textured ceiling scrapped, had an electrician come in to move recessed lights and add a center box for the light fixture, patch all the walls, installed an outlet for the lite cabinets, have the walls and ceiling painted, door and hardware were replaced… and THEN California Closet came in and did their magic. Then we had a new carpet installed.
When it was time for the big reveal, it felt like a reveal for a client… MAGIC. Since I was in Virginia when this was all happening and guiding it over Facetime, the first time I saw the closet, I was elated. I wanted to touch everything and open the cabinet doors and drawers. It was amazing and so beautiful! I immediately started to style it and move our stuff in. I love how it turned out, and I am thrilled to have Merrick and the California Closet team as a go-to resource for my design business launching in Indiana this summer after we make our big move!
We can’t wait to show you more of our new, completed home – I could not be more thrilled for 2023. If you are looking for amazing closets to organize your year, and life, then head to California Closets and follow their page on Instagram. And if you are looking for a designer to take you home and life to the next level… you know who to call (wink wink)!
