The time has come for another trip to the High Point Market! This year’s event proved that trends are constantly changing, just like the times. As always, I had an amazing time scoping out the latest design trends, making new designer friends (and reuniting with old!), and finding inspiration by all there was to see.
First Things First: Let's Dive Into This Season's Biggest Trends
Caning
Caning is still so hot! From chairs to lights, this trend was everywhere. This historical weaving gives a light, and airy feel to any asset.
Light Woods
Light woods were used in modern & traditional pieces! Beautiful wooden grain can make anything look chic and quickly upgrades the overall look of a space.
Colors Galore
Colors ALL OVER! There were many white & neutrals, but we were excited to see that purples and reds are working a comeback. All of these colorful beauties were paired with black to give depth & drama. Not only that, but we LOVE the true classics like blue & even blush was hot at the market!
Unique Shapes
From light fixtures to table bases, unique shapes snuck their way into the event. We also saw beautiful Burl woods, which never cease to take my breath away.
Details That Make An Impact
Inlays & crafting details on all pieces made the simplest of pieces stand out from the crowd.
Modern Shapes
Lastly, modern shapes took hold as rounded back chairs & sofas made an appearance, offering a soft yet eye-catching appeal with great versatility. Who wouldn’t want to take a seat?!
In addition to seeing all of the fantastic trends that the market had to offer, I also got to experience the trip with Sarah, our staff Interior Designer. What fun we had getting to test drive furniture for our clients (and lounging in those comfy couches sure didn’t hurt… like our feet!).
It was great getting together with Duval Designs!
Pam of Pam Harvery Interiors!
On the left is the beautiful Shayla Copas launching her line at Chelsea House!
Always great catching up with Jane Dagmi!
Love this! Kurt Miller from Chicago.
Sarah and I with well-known designer and author, Alexa Hampton!

My dear friend & well known designer friend Traci Connell!
I know most of you are waiting to hear what is the scoop on delays. We asked all different showrooms from furniture, accessories, lighting, and fabrics to report back from the front line. As we know, we were in a health pandemic/crisis last year, and this next year will be a manufacturing and product crisis. Because of the pandemic, clients can expect furniture and deadline delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic lasting into next year. Some companies showed a limited supply of what is available right now, but most products are significantly delayed with 3-5x the wait. So if you’re getting some inspo from the pieces you see here, let us know, and let’s check stock and get in line!
It was a great market and so thrilling to be around so much design talent, shop for clients first hand, and bring you the latest in the home industry from the furniture capital of the world. I am so grateful I got to attend High Point Market this year, and even more grateful I get to share all of the fantastic pieces with all of you!
