Twice a year, the design community descends on High Point, North Carolina, for the High Point Furniture Market. The week-long affair, hosted in the fall and spring, is the largest home furnishings industry trade show in the world and is the place to be, be seen, and shop for the latest and greatest in interior design.
Our founder, Sallie Lord, has been attending the market for over two decades and is, well, a market PRO! In the past, Sallie has been a fixture on panels, a known market influencer, and, this year, a showcase designer for the highly coveted Rowe Furniture.
Additionally, attending market allows our team to interact with professionals in the design world, learn about the latest and greatest coming from the world's best design houses, and scout out the products we know our clients will love.
Here is a quick snapshot of the trends we know you'll love and a little peek at Sallie's Rowe Showcase, quite the dream lounge.
Rowe Furnishings
When Rowe first approached us to be a part of this year's Designer Showcase, Sallie was in the middle of her big move to Indianapolis -- and while it was a dream come true, the timing just seemed impossible. A designer's dream, after all, is to be selected to be a part of this showcase, and with a bit of encouragement from the Rowe team, our team, and her family, she said yes! What resulted is the stuff that Barbie Dream Houses are made of.
When designing our Rowe Room, we focused on creating a space that used many of our favorite items we've used in the past, focusing on the approach we use with our clients of creating a design that exudes Liveable Luxury. It was essential for us to use comfortable pieces that looked beautiful and bespoke. With this space, we wanted to create a room that offered multiple experiences in a small space that could be multi-functional.
Thanks to the team at Rowe and Restyle Source, our Rowe Design Room turned out better than we could have dreamed of. The small but mighty space is a multi-functional dream, with pieces that are cohesive and provide different experiences while looking fabulous. In the end, this room, with the pieces selected, can be used as a place to drink coffee, have conversations with friends, eat breakfast, and even have a guest stay over on the daybed. Aside from having the opportunity to create a dream room for Rowe, our team dove into the rhythm of the market, exploring new trends, seeing friends, and sitting on many, many chairs!

Attending market is an opportunity to see the trends that'll be in play the following season. Here is what our team is seeing and what you can expect to see on social media very soon!
Chrome, silver, and bronze finishes are making a big comeback. These finishes can be seen throughout various showrooms and can be used in a variety of ways to add a touch of luxury and sophistication to any space.
Warmth is in! Warm colors such as golden camel, caramel, warm greens, and rich burgundy and burnt oranges reign supreme in many showrooms. These colors can be used to create warm and inviting atmospheres.
Warm whites and neutrals are very in! Whites have long been used to create bright and airy spaces, and showrooms like Sagehome are still putting these pieces on the forefront. Neutrals can be used to create a timeless and elegant space, which we are seeing heavily in popular monochromatic designs in almost every showroom.
While neutrals, whites, and warm tones are having a moment, we still see color explosions everywhere. Creative textiles and loud wallpapers cover bold and fun spaces, or you can see color pops in more muted designs to introduce pop into a space.
The 80s are back in the future... and while we're not entirely too in love with this moment, it's fun to see the different ways black glass and brass tables with retro shapes are being used in a more sleek and modern way.
Traditional is here to stay! While being a tried and true style, we're seeing historic pieces returning to the light; cue the MET collection from Eichholtz.
While there are only a couple of the big trends we saw at High Point, they give you a glimpse of what's to come next season. For more, visit our Instagram page, where we'll be sharing more of our favorite trends and our top favorite projects from 2023.
