I always get excited at the beginning of the year. There's this burn inside of me—an excitement that reminds me of the first day of school as a kid. It's the time of year when I eagerly conduct my annual audit. I scroll through my phone's camera roll to revisit the highlight moments week by week, and I take time to reflect on the impactful but unphotographed moments: business growth, family milestones, and achieved goals.
After my audit, I write out my list of intentions: where I want to grow, where I need to step back, and how I'll commit to staying present in each moment. Then comes my big purge—from emptying my drafts folder to cleaning out drawers and closets. It's my fresh start, an intentional and planned way to move forward. Though I can't accomplish everything at once, I steadily chip away at it.
I've mapped out my business investments: new flooring for the Indy studio, upcoming trips, and which markets to strategically skip. And yes, there might be some personal purchases too! My work bag is old, tired, and worn, so this year we're up-leveling with a functional beauty.
Scheduled & Purposeful Glow-UpSelf-care is crucial, yet as a business owner, mom, and wife, I rarely invest time in myself. My "free time" usually fills up with work, chores, or helping others. While I'll always maintain these responsibilities, this year I'm prioritizing my own glow up! I'm investing in my health, wealth, and soul through scheduled facial treatments, healthier eating habits, and eliminating harmful chemicals from my food.
Giving BackGifting is my love language. Making others happy through thoughtful presents brings me joy, and I'm always looking for new ways to give and help. Last year, I supported various causes: a Food Pantry, Chasing a Cure for Parkinson's, Red Cross, and St. Jude's, among others. This year, I want to deepen my impact by focusing my giving more intentionally. In light of the tragic events in Los Angeles, I have donated to World Central Kitchen and encourage you to do the same. Together, we can make a difference and watch the City of Angels rise again. Did you know GHI purchases trees in our clients' names when they buy products from us? Thanks to our clients trusting us with their homes, we're growing a forest while giving back.
House GoalsLast year's huge renovation still brings me joy every day! Now, our coat closet needs a refresh, and I'm excited to tackle this design project in 2025.
FamilyI'm brewing up wonderful plans filled with travel, fun, and friends for the year ahead.
