Always the highlight of the spring season, this month we headed to the Highpoint Furniture Market! For those of you who don’t know, the HPMKT is held twice a year and is the largest home furniture show in the world! I have been going for 23 years and it’s my favorite. I know the lay of the land like the back of my hand and it didn’t disappoint! We saw so many new items, trends, textures, colors and shapes. It’s exciting to see the upcoming trends that’ll soon fill our clients’ homes... when they are available.
Delays have plagued the design industry for some time, but it was great learning that some companies have found ways around the delays, yet other companies are being honest and realistic about the situation. Folks, we aren’t out of the woods. While some things are coming quickly, some pieces are taking 6-9 months+. So, please continue being patient as our vendors are doing everything they can to get products to you and we are doing everything we can to help assist in that.
Now, let’s dive into what we saw – shall we?
What's Trending?
- Silver & Chrome. Don’t worry, gold is still hot!
- Epic, bold, statement patterns and upholstery are also taking over.
- Wood tones. From charcoal & ebony to washed light bleached oaks.
- Caning only comes in middle tones, and lots of burl wood!
- For lighting, there are more clean lines & modern forms. Smoked glass is also
There were just so many amazing pieces and trends to peruse, and we simply couldn’t get enough. Check out some of my (many) favorites:
This year, GreyHunt was honored to attended market as an influencer for Bungalow 5 & Fabricut. We love supporting our companies and sharing with the industry and also with our clients. Our goal is to showcase companies that are passionate about design. The market isn’t just about swooning over furniture, it’s a huge networking event that brings top designers from all over the country together in one place. I am lucky enough to not only rub elbows but to cram into an uber after dinner with some of my amazing designer friends such as Traci Connells of Dallas, Christopher Kennedy of Palm Springs, Lori Paranjape of Nashville, among many others. I also always make time to hang out and support my favorite local designers, whom I'm fortunate to call friends. We are all about supporting each other.
Overall, I could not be more excited about the trends this season – and more of all, am ever so grateful for the experience. Thank you so much to all over those who support us, have inspired us, and keep on cheering. The love is real!
