We could just pinch ourselves. A couple of weeks we were invited to Scottsdale, Arizona, for an experience from Brizo X Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. The iconic Frank Lloyd Wright is a name all designers know well, and the luxurious Brizo is a brand we at Greyhunt Interiors use in every project we can… after all, we're very close to one of the designers! Wink Wink. More on this trip:

After the successful launch of the Frank Lloyd Wright Bath Collection by Brizo, the design team engineered an experience at the legendary architect’s winter home in Arizona, Taliesin West. The inaugural inspiration trip brought together top-tier designers from all over the country to immerse themselves into Wright's world and design process. The three-day event included an exclusive meeting with Wright's great-granddaughter, designer Melissa Galt.

Guests also learned about the Frank Lloyd Wright collection with Brizo. This one of a kind collection honors his philosophy of organic architecture and truly manifests his connection to nature, and stay true to his six fundamental principles:

  1. Belonging — The harmonious bath collection follows Wright's philosophy that buildings should be of the landscape and not imposed upon it.
  2. Simplicity — The collection's clean lines follow his belief that the true value of a design is judged by its simplicity and repose.
  3. Individuality — The collection offers a variety of configurations and finishes to tailor the aesthetic to individual tastes, keeping true to his emphasis on personalized design.
  4. Palette — Channeling Wright's own palette, this collection features natural woods and elemental metals, colors derived from the field and the woods.
  5. Substance — The collection highlights carefully selected finishes and accents, in the exact nature Frankly Lloyd Wright freely expressed the true nature of materials.
  6. Integrity — Brizo took Wright's sincere, gracious, and loving spirit into every detail, from cantilevered spout to the innovated water flow.

To say this was an experience I won't forget is an understatement! I loved getting an insight into Lloyd's design habits. His favorite project was always his next! It was fascinating to learn that he always wanted your eye to extend past the horizon, and he was always thinking and designing forward. Also, we were lucky enough to meet business Interior design coach and great-granddaughter Frank Lloyd Wright Melissa Galt! She spoke at the event, and it was so inspiring to hear the impact of her great grandfather on her life.

This entire trip was a dream from start to finish. We were treated to a stay at the Arizona Biltmore, an architectural masterpiece that was influenced and showcases the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. Designed by Albert Chase McArthur, a former draftsman for Wright, the Biltmore is a true homage to the iconic architect from the Harvard-trained architect, who implemented many of the same design traits into the building that he had been influenced under his work with Wright. The hotel was recently restored under the guidance of architect Erik Peterson, who brought the property into the 21st. Century while drawing inspiration from both Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Chase McArthur.

We were able to connect with so many inspiring designers during our stay! We all had a lot to talk about regarding clients, projects, delays in manufacturing, and what products/ companies we love. I always walk away with ideas and thoughts on editing a contract, serving clients better, and even taking design to the next level!

Thank you again, Brizo, for this incredible opportunity.
