Just about a week and a half ago, I had the honor of attending the reveal of Brizo’s Vettis Concrete faucet. Not only was this night special as this is a design feat for anyone- the first e v e r concrete faucet- but the dedication, talent and imagination that went into this thing was incredible to see go down.
The Vettis Concrete is entirely made of concrete all the way down to the smooth, cool handle, and is seamless and majestic in its function. Seriously fab friends, this thing is just…impressive, luxurious, raw, innovative, amaz…alright I’ll stop myself now cause I could go on and on. Its design took four years to complete and each one is hand crafted by an expert sculptor in Victoria, British Columbia. Because this is such a specialized creation, they had to cap its production at 500, making it a limited-edition wonder! Well, that’s enough of me gushing, check out Brizos intro to their concrete sensation, here.
Aside from feelin’ all warm and fuzzy about the faucet, my night at the party was filled with lots more gushy designer moments. Getting to be shoulder to shoulder with Arch Digest, meeting up with Jason Wu once again, hanging with TJ, designer of the faucet, Chris, the hand-crafter of the faucets, and of course I can’t forget my handsome Judd! Every time I come to these events I always walk away with a full heart from the experience of being surrounded by such awesome creators, all of which also happen to be the nicest of peoples. Like actually the nicest. Seeing everyone celebrate all those involved in creating such a fab feat was so so special, I’m still feeling inspired!
Such a fun time, a week later and I still catch myself chuckling when they revealed they would release only 500, and Jason Wu promptly exclaimed “make that 499!”. Ha! I feel you Jason!!
