• Mrs. Bush & Books

With the recent passing of Barbara Bush, I couldn’t help but think to share some library inspo. If you didn’t know, Mrs. Bush has been a leading lady in the fight against illiteracy. Her works continued well beyond her years at The White House. Just so you peeps can get a better idea of what I’m talking about, I called in my friend, who happens to be a First Ladies Historian and author, Andrew Och for his thoughts.

“Barbara Bush loved books, and reading and children so much, she spent many of her birthdays (even very recently) reading to children at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland, ME. Her post White House philanthropic endeavors that surrounded reading and literacy resulted in millions of dollars raised for a cause so near and dear to her heart that affects the joy and productivity of men, women and children everywhere.”
